The Rector: Rev Dr Richard Hainsworth |
I was born near Hull in 1979, moving to Wales (near Pennant Melangell) at the age of 12. I studied Natural Sciences and Theology at Cambridge and a PhD in Eco-feminism at Cardiff.
I worked as a carer for adults with learning difficulties and then as Lay Chaplain to St Asaph Cathedral before going to Theological College. I am married to Laura, a teacher, and our first child, Jacob, was born in 2014 and Grace followed in 2018. I was ordained in 2006 and have worked as a priest in Newtown, Wrexham and Northop and ran a theology degree course for the Church in Wales. I took a career break while looking after Grace, and then returned to work as a Census Officer and a Meter Reader before coming back into Church ministry with my appointment to Flint and Flint Mountain in Feb 2022. I am a passionate photographer and astrophotographer - see my website at www.andtherewaslight.co.uk |
